Time to use that PTO!
Paid time off (PTO) is a perk that many jobs nowadays offer as a way to unwind from work. However, on average, 55% of Americans neglect to take advantage of this time off. There can be many reasons, of course, pandemics, global issues, or for some, it could be just the problem of deciding where you should go! Luckily, we can help you use your PTO and have the most amazing experiences.
Bora Bora
When it comes to an ideal vacation, many immediately think of somewhere tropical like Mexico. However, a destination that tops many lists year after year is Bora Bora, Tahiti. Everything about this destination screams Paradise, starting from the feeling you get when you step foot on the island; to all of the experiences offered during your time there. You will be surrounded by pristine turquoise waters, perfect for water activities like paddleboarding, snorkeling, and all other exploration! If you venture further inland, you will come across adventures of Safari’s where you can explore the rugged roads via a 4×4 to feel like you are a local. If you want an even more hair-raising adventure, you can go diving at the five different sights in Bora Bora. With the high visibility water, you can see all kinds of marine life and even get up and close with the Manta Ray’s in the area! If you want to wind down, you can have your choice of lounging by the beach or booking a trip to the Deep Ocean Spa, which just so happens to be the most awarded spa in the Pacific! By the time your trip is over, you will be a recharged person that will be ready to take on anything!
Sahara Desert
If you are looking for a more heart-rate raising way to use your PTO then a trip to the Sahara desert might be in order. The Sahara dunes are massive and perfect for something you don’t generally associate with sand, surfing! Sand surfing is a popular activity in this area due to the rows of barchans (the Turkic word for “Crescent-shaped dunes”) that you can sand-board down (using a board that is similar to a snowboard). If you want to go on a journey that requires less energy from you, you can always travel across the Sahara by camel. Camels are native to the desert and have adapted to thrive in harsh conditions. You can also explore via a jeep safari, where you will feel like you are flying across the desert if you rode a camel previously!
Montana
If you have dreamt of the perfect unplugged vacation, you don’t even have to travel outside of the United States! Montana offers 147,040 square miles of prairies and snow-capped mountains. Montana is called the “big sky country”, as it’s often hard to tell where the Earth ends and the sky begins in this landscape. At night you can relax under the nighttime sky admiring the stars. With little light pollution, you will be able to see stars you have never seen before! You can explore all 1 million screws of Glacier National Park, home to 700 plus hiking trails, 25 glaciers, waterfalls, wildlife, and so much more. If you are an avid fisher, you can enjoy fly-fishing in some of the best conditions where the Montana fish will put up a fight and make it quite the adventure. Don’t forget to meet some of the Montanans while you are there, you will find them to be some of the friendliest people in the country! Hopefully this has inspired you to take action to schedule your very well deserved PTO!
