3 Great American Roadtrip Ideas
The summer is upon us and it’s time to hit the proverbial road. But where should you go? Here are three roadtrip ideas in North America that we love!
1. Pacific Coast Highway
A few of our clients have done this in the past. Fly into San Diego, rent a convertible and drive up to Wine Country in Napa Valley. You can fly out of San Francisco after you’ve had your fair share of California.
We suggest: getting fish tacos in Laguna Beach, visiting the Winchester Mystery House in San Jose, whale watching in Monterey Bay, lunching in Big Sur, touring San Francisco and stopping in Haight-Ashbury, and of course, sipping wines on a tour in Napa Valley.
2. Blue Ridge Parkway
Though this might be a good one to save for the fall during leaf-changing season, there is still plenty to see and enjoy during the summer.
We suggest: stopping in Asheville for a brewery tour and to visit the Biltmore Estate, checking out the Linville Caverns, taking a hike up Grandfather Mountain, visiting the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, VA and ending the trip with a vineyard tour in Charlottesville.
3. Northeast Coast
It’s a beautiful time of year to soak in the sites of Boston, Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard and coastal Maine.
We suggest: Rooting on the Red Sox at a game in Boston, taking a tour of Harvard and reminiscing about your college life, playing a round of golf in Martha’s Vineyard, viewing one of Maine’s 65 historic lighthouses and, of course, eating fresh lobster.
